An Incremental Climb

Learning how to slow down and build your dream “one step at a time,” as they say, can be painful. However, it can also be a joyous, continuous set of ’one steps‘ forward.

I’m learning to enjoy the process. It can be very overwhelming to start something from scratch. So many individual steps to take in order to make sure it’s done correctly. Incorporation

With the launch of my LLC, (Limited Liability Company), I knew I needed support right from the beginning. So, with stimulus check in-hand, I set out to invest in my future self. I went to legalzoom.com and had all of the basic paperwork drawn up so that I didn’t miss a step along the way. Even with their support, there were a lot of little steps that still crept up that made me grateful that I had help.

Website

After my company, Coleman Global Initiative, LLC, was set up, I then needed a website. Choosing which provider to use to get that first version up and running was also another learning curve. During the heat of the pandemic, I had purchased a website with Wix. I wanted to branch out from my normal sites that I’ve built all these years with GoDaddy, so I unnecessarily challenged myself to build a new home under the pressure of a platform that I didn’t understand.

Don‘t get me wrong, Wix has some cool features, but I had always heard how “easy” it was to get a site up and running. I’m still looking for the “easy”, but my site is now live and ready to be viewed in its most basic form. In my new way of thinking, I will take some time each day to continue to build the site into the product that I want the world to come to love. I’m not doing any promotions about the site during this phase, but anyone who stumbles upon it will still get the idea of what we’re shooting towards.

One step at a time. Dreams come true. Learning can be fun.

… to be continued…
